After completing the Catskill 3500 footers, and getting close to finishing the 4 states of the Appalachian Trail that are closest to us, I knew we would want a new local hiking challenge. I like variety, so redlining the Catskills is the perfect idea. I found a webpage about doing it, with a spreadsheet you can download to track your progress. The trails are based on those listed on the NYNJTC Catskill maps. The challenge involves hiking close to 350 miles of trails.
I just ordered my new set of 2016 Catskill maps. Now I know what to do this winter with my old set of maps & a highlighter.
