Charleston, SC Trip, Day 3

Day 3 started out with more walking (we like to walk a lot). We stopped by St. Michael's church, which has a beautiful historic cemetery. Then on to the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon. We had a tour of the dungeon and then continued touring the rest of the building by ourselves. After visiting the building, we drove to the Angel Oak Tree, a 400-year-old live oak. It's a popular tourist site, despite being outside of the city. Folly Beach was close by, so we drove to the end and did a short walk to a view of the Morris Island lighthouse (in the ocean).

There are many buildings with gas lanterns

Old Exchange

This is how we lunch.

Visiting Angel Oak. Free, but fenced in to protect it.

The tree is estimated to be 400 years old.

25' in circumference.

Tree hugger.

Tree kissing is allowed.

The entire walk to the lighthouse is a graffiti covered paved walkway.
It was entertaining.

It was really cold, but that didn't stop us from going into the ocean.
