We've been trying to get to our section of the AT that we maintain once a month. We headed out today, knowing there was a chance we might get rained on. Today was our 9th visit of the year.
We met a woman at the trailhead who was backpacking, and who fell in love with Krummholz. We got a late start and even though we knew we might need weed whacking further down the trail, we focused on work close to the trailhead. I lopped and removed sticks and branches from the trail. Glen worked on removing a low hanging rhododendron, which we knew would be even lower once it was covered in snow.
It started raining, then we got thunder. So, at that point we left. We met a shuttle driver and her aussie, who were hiking in to assist someone who sprained their ankle on the trail. The original woman we met carried his pack out. Ugh, poor guy. Short day. More to do next month.
