The forecast was for rain in the early afternoon. The guide gave us the option of doing a sunrise hike, but none of us were interested. We wanted to hike out and beat the rain. We woke up early. Breakfast at 6am. I set my alarm for 5:40. I slept through it. And I'm a liht sleeper. I had ear plugs in and had taken Benadryl. It was around 10 minutes before one of the other hikers was kind enough to wake me up. It was dark and I rushed to start packing up. After breakfast, we headed out at 7am. It was a downhill hike today, and we were going at a quicker speed. My pack was lighter, but still not light. We were offered the opportunity for a swim, but decided it wasn't warm enough to indulge. Once at the parking lot, we collected our smellables, and sat on the pavement while our guide made lunch for us.
Overall, a fantastic trip, with the only downside being the weight of the pack.
