Glen and I joined the Carolina Mountain Club on this beautiful hike. I'd actually been planning to do a backpack in the Sam Knob area last year but got rained out twice! Asheville was hot today, so this hike was a nice escape. My favorite part was crossing a meadow in the beginning with a view of Sam Knob. I've always thought there should be "meadow bagging" hike challenges, just like "peak bagging" challenges. I'm a sucker or a bald, and this hike had two.
