VA 625 has the terrible drive to the parking area. I'm so glad to be done with this road. Looking to find easier parking areas for the rest of the week :) VA 42 was paved, and an easy drive.

We saw a number of backpackers today, and stopped to talk to a few. We were both tired. It was a very short day, but we were sweating a ton. We weren't the only ones. All the hikers we met were dripping sweat. There were signs about a bridge that was out, but the water levels were low and it was an easy crossing. Well, I got my shoes completely wet, but Glen was able to cross without getting his shoes wet. This is pretty typical for us. We stopped on the other side of the stream, and let Krumm play in the water. He likes playing in streams more than hiking. He's just fascinated by water, and the sticks at the bottom of the streams.
