We took a rest day yesterday. It poured rain, and my body needed a break. We headed north to Luray and visited Luray Caverns. Today my body felt recovered enough to do today's hike which had a big elevation gain. The parking area was pretty packed. I didn't realize you could park across the street, which would have been easier. We met two trail maintainers who were out scouting work that needed to be done on their section of trail. Their hiking club maintained this section of the AT. Today's hike had a big climb (for us), but we just took it slow & steady. This section is called the Three Ridges Wilderness area. We got great views today! We also had to walk across a cool suspension bridge, which sways while you walk across it. I was thinking this section would make a good backpack as well. There were quite a lot of people on this trail - but then again it was a weekend.
