The park entrance at Rockfish Gap (the southern end of Shenandoah National Park) was closed. That was kind of good news, because we easily found a parking spot right on the trail there next to the closed gate. There are around 5 parking spots there. Today was a long day, but felt less difficult than others. We passed by the Paul C. Wolfe shelter - loved it there. There was a stream in front of the shelter where I stopped and soaked my feet. A few thru hikers flew by. My right foot and knee were in a lot of pain today - I was hiking more slowly due to it. I took a couple of Naproxen to take the edge off the pain. Today's hike had good views. This section would make a nice overnight backpack.
