Now that Krummholz is 3 months old, we are letting him go on 1.5 mile hikes. We had to buy him his second harness already, since he's outgrown his first one. Glen says he wishes he would stay this size forever, since he's so stinking cute.
We returned to the Leon Levy Preserve. This lollypop hike is one of the hike suggestions that is offered on a printout at the trailhead. We allowed Krummholz to meet a border collie mix and its owners at the trailhead. He did fine with the mellow dog. Trek is currently wearing a hood at home, to prevent him from licking his radiation therapy site. We decided to bring him along and let him hike without his hood on. He was too interested in the hike to think about licking his bum. Awesome! As soon as we finished the hike, his hood went back on. When we finished the hike, we saw a lunging barking German Shephard in the parking lot. Krummholz was pretty terrified and wanted out of there. I can't wait until we start his puppy class and we can expose him to safe dogs his age.
After our hike, we went to Bareburger and ate a really healthy kale/quinoa burger. Service was kind of slow again, but the food was good.
Trails are well blazed, occasionally with "you are here" maps at intersections |
Krummholz discovers he loves moss! i.e. moss goes in mouth! |
