In the mornings, I've been taking Trek to Norwalk for his radiation treatments before going into work. On most days, he spends the whole day there, and I pick him up after work. They let me see where he gets to hang out during the day - happy that it isn't just in a crate. The vet techs always say good things about him - how well behaved and sweet he is. Today I went and waited while he had his treatment. I brought my laptop in and worked in their lobby. I can bring him home after an hour, still a little bit unsteady from his anesthesia. I worked from home today - they let us out at 2pm due to the early stock market closure. This meant we could get in a hike after work! It's great to be able to hike on a weekday. Normally when I come home it's dark.

This hike is on list of hiking suggestions on a printout offered at the trailhead. We are looking for hikes around 1.5 miles long, and this fit the bill. We brought Trek along and let him hike without a hood. While hiking on the south side of the gorge, we noticed a folding chair on the north side of the gorge. Glen wants to pack it out next time we hike around there. Krummholz is chomping at the bit to run. We just ordered him a new collar with our phone number on it, and a dog tag. Soon I want to start working on recalls with a long line at places we hike. But I figured he better have some id on him first, just in case. Glen said our vet said to wait a little bit to microchip him - he wanted him to be a bit bigger.

Yesterday we went to Long Island to let Krummholz meet Yuiko's family. Her daughter adored Krummholz, and he adored her. Krummholz did well with both of her dogs, even her barky one. We went on a mini hike with them.

Krummholz and Chip - Chip isn't much bigger than him. Hard to get a photo, since we haven't taught Krummholz a stay yet.
