This was our first time hiking at the Leon Levy Preserve. I'm looking for new places to hike with short easy trails, because it's what we need right now. These are places where I might not normally go, because the hikes are so short. But they are perfect for us right now. It gives us the opportunity to try new places. This preserve actually has around 5 miles of trails, with many loops possible. The trail map has mileage for sections, so it will make it easy for us to come up with varying short routes. There is also a list of suggested hikes. This is one of them from that list. We saw no one on the trail today.

At the trailhead there was a sign about an aggressive owl. Who knew that owls could be aggressive? Krummholz really liked the hike. I think he's going to like this hiking thing :) After our hike, we headed into Ridgefield to eat at Bareburger. We looked them up, and they actually have a few vegetarian burger options. The service was a bit slow, but we both liked our meals a lot. After lunch, we found the main street in Ridgefield, and took Trek & Krummholz for a walk down the street to socialize Krummholz. He got to meet a few people, all of whom he liked.
