Guanajuato, Mexico - Day 14

December 18th, 2025

Today we headed out with Rita and sketched a complicated scene with strong foreground, middle-ground, and background layers.

In the evening, a couple of sketchers and I had an interest in seeing a concert at the Teatro Juarez. I had no idea what would be playing, but we heard that the inside of the building is spectacular. I went to the ticket office ahead of time to buy my ticket. I was able to ask for 1 ticket for the night's performance. He told me the cost. I tried paying by credit card, but I think they may have only taken cash. So, I haven't learned too many big numbers yet in Spanish. I thought he said the concert cost something like 700 pesos. I didn't think I had enough, so I left. Outside I counted all of my money and had just enough. I went back and handed them all my money. He gave me lots of money back. It only cost something like 126 pesos. Oops!

The concert featured Ivan Lopez Reynoso (countertenor) and Alexander Vivero (a 16-year-old child prodigy pianist), performing mostly songs from operas. It was excellent.

A ramen restaurant - choose your packaged ramen and make a bowl there.
I kind of wanted to sketch it but didn't want to figure out how to get vegetarian ramen.

I joined Arse and Kris for a piano & countertenor concert at the Teatro Juarez
