Our last morning in St. John. We were happy that it didn't rain last night (it rains a lot here), so we could pack up dry tents. Our catamaran driver stopped by our campground at 7:30 in the morning with my phone. What a relief! We left our luggage at the campground and took a taxi to Hawksnest Beach. Dian snorkeled, and Tara and I just hung out in the water. We headed back to Cinnamon Bay and split a second breakfast from their restaurant.
Then we took a ferry back to St. Thomas and a taxi to the Green Iguana Hotel, the same place we stayed on our way out. I highly recommend the hotel. It has air conditioning too :) Today was the beginning of Carnival on St. Thomas, so we decided to walk down to the water to see what it was about. They were having motorboat races. There were lots of food and drink vendors, so I tried a drink with different flavors of rum. It was very hot and really no shade down there, so we returned to the hotel to cool off. Then off to the hotel pool, where we met a couple of other ladies and talked about national park trips.
The following day we had some morning pool time, before I headed off to the airport. A great trip. If I went back to the Caribbean, I'd probably try to go in December or January, as it looks like the nights are cooler that time of year. I did struggle with sleeping when the low at night was 77 degrees.
