We stopped by the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (P1) at Garden of the Gods for a lunch break. We walked around, but none of the exhibits were open, so it was less interesting.

We had learned about the mineral springs in Manitou Springs and decided to do a tour of them. We stopped at the Manitou Springs visitor center for a small, free sample tasting cup. We then drove into town, parked (fee parking lot), and started searching for the springs using the map from the visitor center. I didn't record my mileage, but maybe we walked 3 miles? They are all within walking distance from each other. Each spring tastes slightly different - one sort of tastes like 7up. The water is naturally carbonated. There were many warning signs about high levels of manganese, but we survived. This town is cute and touristy. I noticed a beignet shop. Well, I've never had a beignet before, so I decided now was my chance! They are so much tastier than donuts!

Searching for the spring

The first one we found - they are all fountains

No time to sketch, but this town has so many sketching opportunities!
