- Richmond Hill Park
- From the parking area, head towards the kiosk, near the shelter. Follow signs for the green blazed trail until it ends at the brown trail. Return the same way.
Today we hiked at Richmond Hill Park. I discovered this park when I rented the picnic shelter for a backpacking clinic and noticed it has a trail system. I couldn't find the most up to date trail map, but there is a map at the trailhead. There is also a QR code for scanning to get the map - but it looks like just the disc golf map: https://Arcgis.ashevillenc.gov/richmondhill. Some of the trails are for mountain bikers only, no foot traffic. The green trail is one of the trails open to hikers, so we did an out and back on it. It's good to carry a map and/or gps even if you are doing just an out and back. Some of the trail markers have fallen over, so we actually missed a turn on our way back.
