Our third hike of the day was to the magnificent Linville Falls. We hiked here last year but joined the group to do it again. We stopped by the visitor center first. There was a broken water fountain, but the visitor center sold bottled water. I bought one. I finished it and ran out of water again while hiking. The hiking around Linville Falls tends to be on easier trails, sometimes gravel. This was good, because we were all hot and tired. We spoke to a bunch of people who asked about our hiking club. I met one guy who wanted to just hike a mile or two on the AT, because he never had before. I recommended Roan Mountain, as it is beautiful and not too far away from Linville Gorge where he was staying.

At the end of our hike, our trip leader, Brenda, provided us with very chilled watermelon. That was the best treat ever!!!! I ate 3 pieces. I could have eaten the whole watermelon! I was so hot, and it was perfect! She earns an A+.
