After a few rainy days, today we got sun! Much better weather. Still cold and windy, but the sun helped a lot. It's actually 10 degrees warmer in Asheville. And I sort of came to the beach to have a warmer vacation. Ha!
A few people on the beach today, but not bad at all. We let Krummholz have lots of off leash time. We didn't throw balls for him today, as yesterday he got a lot of sand crud in his eyes, that was still coming out this morning. He is a really good dog. He runs, but stays close to us, always keeping an eye on us. Why? Because humans provide good things, like balls and cheese. We've developed a good relationship with him. He was sad about the lack of ball and started pointing out large shells to us by lying down pointing to them. We did find a stick and threw it into a calmer shallower part of the ocean, and he did learn how to run a little into the water.
Once we left the beach, there were MST blazes for the remaining road walk back to our car on Lighthouse Road Trailhead. We passed the Hatteras Lighthouse on the way.
