After work hike. I loved this hike! I also love the section just south of here. This section I can see us repeating often. I can't wait to hike it during fall foliage season. We missed out on our planned blueberry picking hike yesterday, due to road and trail closures in Pisgah Forest. So, we remembered there were blueberries to pick in this area. We did pick the small sour blueberries, and a few blackberries. A fair amount of bee activity, but they seemed very mellow. Many of them looked like they were napping on the flowers.

The hike starts at the Glassmine Falls Overlook. We had visited once before, looking for the waterfall. We were very confused when we couldn't find it. Then I read that it is rare for the waterfall to be flowing. But today it was! It's very far away, and you certainly can't see an 800 foot drop.

This hike has two main views, one about half way in, and one at the turn around point. The view about half way in is gorgeous! And it has krummholz, which Krumm was named after. On our drive home we were treated to sunset views along the parkway.
