Parking: Moore Cove Falls Trailhead, parking on side of road
Directions: Take trail from trailhead to the falls and back.
We were supposed to go on a CMC hike today to pick blueberries on a trail. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to road closures due to tropical storm Fred. It's a little hard to gather information on which roads are open and which roads are closed. Since there was a chance of thunderstorms, and we were tired, we opted for a waterfall hike. We knew some roads are closed in the Brevard area, so we printed out maps for 4 waterfall hikes, figuring we'd be able to do at least one. We headed to Moore Cove Falls, where the road was fine. There were roads off of it though that were closed. The parking area for the falls was very crowded and I drove by twice before choosing a parking spot. The hike to the falls was straightforward, but pretty crowded with people. The falls themselves were pretty, but it got to be hard to social distance. The bottom of the falls was shallow, so Krummholz got a chance to play. I swear, he's learning that when he hears water, he knows we're going on a waterfall hike. He adores water, and was so excited when he stepped out of the car.
