Last night was a little rough. The first few finishers finished the UTMB yesterday evening. But then we had runners passing by our hotel all night long. There were people out in the streets really late at night and early in the morning cheering for each runner that came in. Those poor runners - running more than 24 hours, running over 2 nights! I went out in the morning and cheered a few runners on as they came bleary eyed past our hotel. Often they would be joined by family for the last few yards. What an amazing accomplishment for these runners! I loved Chamonix! It was much more fun than hanging out in Geneva. Our shuttle back to Geneva was early, so we ate breakfast as fast as we could. I wasn't sure how our shuttle driver would reach us, because the road in front of our hotel was closed because it was on the race course. Luckily they were able to meet us behind the hotel. Then off to Geneva, where we bought some final Swiss chocolate and relaxed in the air conditioning. We did walk buy a Tesla store so Glen could stare in the windows (it was closed). He was very disappointed not to see anyone driving a Tesla during our trip. We flew out the following day. I ended up buying a t-shirt in the airport, because my clothes were stinking despite hand washing them. Next time I better pack a shirt just for flying, lol.
