We've had bronchitis for 2 weeks - ever since flying back from California. I was tired of being inside, so wanted to try a short hike. We brought both dogs to Ward Pound Ridge. It was a sunny day, so there were a ton of people out. We packed our microspikes, but didn't need them. There was a few inches of soft snow. There were ski tracks on some of the trails, but we walked next to them, to avoid ruining them. We saw 2 people with snowshoes, but they weren't necessary for this trail.

I came prepared with treats, but Krummholz was too excited to take any, since Trek was along. Ugh. Back to pulling. We've been working a lot on our loose leash walking - but hiking with Trek on a trail is too exciting. We got .8 miles in, and Glen decided he needed to turn around. The cold dry air was making him cough excessively. He took Trek back to the car, and Krummholz and I finished our loop. With Trek gone, I had better luck working on his loose leash walking. Not perfect, but much, much better. I still ran out of treats by the end of the hike. I feed him every few steps, so he's getting a lot of treats.  At the end of the hike, I just worked on changing direction when he pulled. We did this a lot. Glen eventually texted me, because he was worried about me - he was expecting me back earlier - but we were just slow due to training. I wished I had brought my long line - this park is a good place for training. Its got wide trails where I could have let him run, dragging a leash, and its got big fields where we could work on recalls.
