Glen and I still have bronchitis, but today is the first day of Daylight Savings Time, and its sunny. Glen stayed home, and I took Krummholz for a short hike. We have planned out most of our hiking vacations for the year, and I have to get in shape! I've stopped going to the gym because I've developed tendonitis in my elbow, so at this point I just need to get walking as much as possible.

There were only 2 cars in the parking lot and the trails were slushy. I brought microspikes, but didn't want to use them, lol. I didn't know how slow we'd be (since I've been spending a lot of time trying to train loose leash walking), so we took the short red trail. After a short ways, I decided to try hiking with Krummholz off leash. We've done a lot of recall training, and being on the red trail we would be unlikely to meet other people or dogs. He ended up doing really well for his first off leash hike. I brought most of his dinner with me, and some string cheese thrown in. We hiked and must have done 50 recalls or so. He stayed within 30 feet of me. I also rewarded him if he came to me without being called.
