We had slightly warmer weather today so Glen came along, which also meant Trek could come along. Today's hike was very easy, so I made it more challenging by carrying a 26 pound backpack. We walked with both dogs on leash (required at Teatown Lake). Krummholz walked pretty nicely on leash yesterday, when it was just the two of us. Today, not so much. He was screaming with excitement in the beginning, and pulling like crazy. I guess walking with Trek excites him? He hasn't been this bad before. It's a bit tricky trying to exercise him before he's learned how to walk nicely on a leash. He learns everything so quickly - hopefully I figure out a solution soon before I completely mess up his training! While we were hiking, someone told us we could see a bald eagle feeding on a dead deer that was frozen into the lake. We did see it on this hike. The bald eagle was huge - unfortunately all I had was my iPhone to take a photo with.

The rest of the hike was uneventful....just me being dragged along by a puppy. Oh my. I'm not so good at training loose leash walking! We have just started training it in our house. I've even had him walk by Trek as a distraction and he's fine. Tomorrow I'll take it outdoors into our yard, first without Trek, then with Trek running loose. Hopefully we make enough progress that our next hike won't be as bad.
