Another short off leash hike with Krummholz. This is his third off leash hike. Glen came along. Even though we were on the red trail, which no one does, we did have a dog incident. Krummholz suddenly sat down. He does that sometimes - I think when he's trying to figure out how to react to something. Today it was because there was an Australian Cattle Dog running through the woods towards him. No owner in sight. I tried calling Krummholz to me, but he didn't respond. He just sat. The dog jumped up on us - was friendly enough but a bit overwhelming. Krummholz and the dog did some initial growling, but then were fine. Eventually I heard people calling for their dog. I kept yelling back that he was here with us. Never did see the people. They were hiking on a different trail. Eventually the dog ran off towards its owners. So, that was exciting, but yes, something Krummholz will have to get used to. Luckily it didn't go to poorly.
