On a previous day, we drove through the Jemez Pueblo and the Jemez Historic Site which was closed. Today we decided to return there and check out the Jemez Historic Site. It was a little small, but nice. It has a Spanish mission church, kivas, etc. Our walk didn't take long. One thing that surprised me is that the Puebloans are still Catholics.

We knew the trail to the hot spring was still icy, but we did stop by Soda Dam Hot Springs. It's a quick look right on the road. The water smelled of sulfur, but the water below the waterfall was cold. We crossed the street to see if there was any trail there, and did see some water coming out of the ground. We touched it, and it was warm. There are private hot springs (not the kind you hike to) in the area, but we didn't bring bathing suits.

We also visited Albuquerque Old Town. Lots of touristy shops there.

Our last day of our trip. So much to see in New Mexico! There are more parks we didn't get a chance to visit, especially on the western side of the state. I need to come up with another itinerary!

The Jemez area is beautiful

This little trickle is the only hot water we found.
