Directions:
  • Start at the trailhead for the Kingsnake Trail (South Cedar Creek Canoe Landing). Take the Kingsnake Trail to the intersection with the Oakridge Trail. Turn right and then right again to go on the Weston Lake Trail. Turn left onto the Boardwalk Trail. Turn right onto the Sims Trail. Turn left onto the Boardwalk Trail. Where the Boardwalk Trail splits, turn right to end at the visitor center.
Day 3 at Congaree. I managed to sleep so well that I slept in a little. We packed up our tents (I've never been so disorganized on a trip before!) and we dropped off 2 of our cars at the visitor center. From there, we took one car to the Kingsnake Trailhead. The trailhead was full of people there for kayaking and canoeing. Kingsnake Trail is a less used trail, again not recommended by the park volunteers due to flooding. The trail wasn't flooded at all today. We found navigation easier today than yesterday. Muddy, yes. I think that 3 days is an appropriate amount of time to spend at this park, as we were able to hike most of the trails in the park in this timeframe.
