We were planning to do an evening hike on the MST to Haw Creek Overlook. We passed 3 signs warning about active bears in the area and about dog/bear interactions. This is in the area where there were 3 bear attacks this year. After hiking a ways, we did come across a large bear at the base of a tree, around 20' off the trail. Time to turn around.
