Parking: Beech Mountain Road
Directions: Red blazed Quick Lake Trail. At Times Square intersection, turn right on yellow blazed Loggers Loop trail. Follow trail to Iron Wheel Junction. Turn left on Quick Lake Trail and return to trailhead.

First hike of the year! I'm 7 weeks out from my knee surgery, so it's time to get back on the trail. We headed out to the Big Pond parking lot to hike the Touch Me Not trail. When we got there, we realized we had already hiked this trail. Time to get more organized! We are a little out of practice! Glen couldn't find his microspikes this morning either. 

Since we're working on hiking all of the trails in the Catskills, we headed south to the Willowemoc Wild Forest area. It's a lot of driving 2 hours there - 40 minutes to a new trailhead - 2 hours back, just to hike 3.8 miles! But we are crazy about hiking. As my joints heal and the weather gets warmer, we'll work on adding more distance and elevation gain. I took a vacation day today, and we enjoyed a quiet day on the trail.
