Trail Map & Guide
Parking: Gapland Road (start), Washington Monument State Park (end)

Directions:
This hike requires two cars. Leave one at Washington Monument State Park, and start the hike at Gapland Road. Hike northbound.

Notes:
We had come to Maryland in March hoping for warmer weather, and the night before we started it snowed! On the ridge we had snow, yet the farmland below was green and cherry trees were starting to bloom. Our goal is to finish hiking the Maryland section of the Appalachian Trail this week. We saw a surprising number of backpackers today.

Mostly easy footing today. Nice!

First day of spring - winter on the top of the ridge, and green valley below
