Hike description:

This hike has no road crossings (other than leaving the parking lot), but comes close to a parking area on Sunrise Mountain. There was a truck at the Culver Fire Tower, which surprised us - there must be a dirt access road. It sounds like fire towers in this area are still used. There's a picnic table next to the fire tower, making it a good spot to stop for a break & a view.

There was only 1 stream with clear water - the rest of the water sources were stagnant and filled with algae.

The area around Sunrise Mountain is crowded. Lots of people seem to come out and walk a short distance to the pavilion. Actually, we saw tons of hikers today, not just around Sunrise Mountain. No other hikers with dogs, just lots of people out backpacking or doing day hikes in this section.
