Sylvan Glen Short Loop, Yorktown Heights, NY

April 2, 2014

Miles: 3
Time: 1 hours 15 minutes

Parking: See directions. Room for around 10 cars. Note that there is now a dog park here, so it fills up much more than before.

Rest rooms: None

Map: Sylvan Glen

Directions: Sylvan Glen Short Loop

Hike description: Easy hike, mostly flat. A new off leash dog park has opened, which is at the very beginning of the hike. The parking lot was almost full when we arrived, but it was due to the dog park. We saw no other people on the trails on a 60 degree weekday evening. Note that there is confusion on whether dogs are allowed on the trails. There are signs at the park about cleaning up after your dog. I've never seen a sign there that dogs aren't allowed on the trails.

Year to date miles:   93.8

The online map is much better!

There are lots of remains from an old quarry along this hike.

Some trails even have named signs
