We woke up at 7am to 3 horses and a cow munching grass by our tents. I asked the campground host about them, and she said they belong to a farmer in Mexico. The cattle cross the Rio Grande and visit the US.
Tara and Dian went to do a hike in the Chisos area, and I took a rest day due to hip pain. When they finished, we stopped at a restaurant next door to the Chisos Basin visitor center for a beer and a hummus wrap. Chisos Basin is a good place to hang out for the day as it tends to be 10-15 degrees cooler than our campground. Today we had a high of 102 degrees. We did laundry next to the campground store in the afternoon. It was tricky to figure out how to get the Wifi to work - it took me a few days of trying. Again, it was much chillier at night.
