Another thunderstorm last night with heavy rain and strong winds. But once it was over, the winds died down and it was easier to sleep. We packed up our tents in the morning, as we are moving to the Rio Grande Campground for a few days. We did a couple of hikes together, and then I hung out in the car while Tara and Dian did a third hike.

In the evening, we set up at Rio Grande Village Campground. It has tons of space, but not much in the way of shade. It is hot, hot, hot! In the upper 90's. We made plans to leave Big Bend tomorrow due to the heat (we didn't end up doing this), because the campground host said the next couple of days will be even hotter. The evening cooled down though and was pleasant. This campground also has showers, a short drive away. A shower and an ice cream from the camp store was enough to improve my mood.

Just after going to bed, Dian called out. There were 8 javelinas walking by my tent! I've seen javelinas in Sedona before, but these javelinas seem very accustomed to people. The sky here is beautiful, but we couldn't see the Milky Way from where we were. The campground was quiet and I slept well.

So many stars!
