Today was a more relaxing day as we had no taxi pickup. We had a delicious huge breakfast at Villa Eira with warm, buttery croissants. We loved our stay there. For our hike, we had the choice of a bridge walk or taking a ferry shortcut. We went for the bridge walk. My foot did okay yesterday, so I'm going to keep walking. We noticed that the Mac's path deviated slightly from the official route, so we took the official route. Oddly we didn't recognize any hikers from our hike yesterday. We are encountering a fair number of hikers. We had a drizzly day which turned into rain. I wore shorts and was a little chilly, but not cold. We had a combination of walking through fields and walking along the shore. The trail is pretty but littered with toilet paper. We were all surprised at the amount of it. I haven't seen a trail in the US with this amount of toilet paper on it. We got to see big waves today. We are staying at Casas do Alentejo. We were spoiled by yesterday's lodging. Today's room is small. We have wet clothes hanging up on every usable surface. Phyllis, Dian, and I went out for Nepalese food. There are so many Nepalese restaurants in this area of Portugal! Tara wasn't feeling well and went to bed early.

Heading out from our hotel in town.

The coast is covered with plants called sea figs.
They are considered an invasive species in Portugal.
But I admit they are beautiful, carpeting the ground in green and red.

Snails are very common here, covering plants, signs, etc.

Sea figs. I think the yellow parts look like crab legs.

Snacking

Sea figs have yellow or pink flowers.
