I wanted to kayak today, so we chose a hike near Price Lake. This hike starts with a steep uphill along a dirt trail. The trail was a little overgrown (yeah, I was wearing pants today), but not bad. We crossed a stile and turned right onto a carriage road on the Moses Cone property. This section has cows, but they were all hiding in the shade so didn't come visit us. The carriage roads gently descend towards Trout Lake. We turned around at the turn off for the parking lot for Trout Lake. Krumm would have liked to have visited Trout Lake, but we were in a rush to make it back in time to go kayaking.

The drive from Shulls Mill Road Trailhead to Price Lake was confusing. Our car took us a very roundabout way, and we ended back on Shulls Mill Road in the end. The 30-minute drive seemed much longer than it should have been. Krumm was soooo excited to go kayaking. Let's just say he's very enthusiastic. He wore a life jacket, but still doesn't like falling off the kayak, which he does sometimes, because he insists on standing at the front of the boat. We did stop by the shore a couple of times, to let him wade and swim in shallower water. He also is much better this year about jumping back into the kayak on command. So much fun! Best day ever he says!

I need to find a place to change my clothes. Glen is perfectly dry after kayaking, but my kayak is always flooded with water from Krumm jumping in and out, so my bottom half gets soaked.

Entering the cow enclosure. Luckily there was a wide spot under the barbed wire for Krumm to get by.
