Another section of the MST today. We had planned to hike from Soco Gap to Docks Gap but saw we could go a little further and check out parking at Wolf Laurel Gap. Past Docks Gap, you are in the Smokies. Dogs aren't allowed on the trails in the Smokies, but the section between Docks Gap and Wolf Laurel Gap is just a road walk, so okay for Krumm to be on. We'll probably have to leave Krumm for anything further west of here.

The trail here has great terrain and is very well maintained. Shout out to CMC member Ike, who maintains this section! It was weed whacked :) I could have worn shorts today (I rarely wear shorts hiking due to ticks). This was an easier section, so a relaxing hike. We saw a variety of wildflowers, the most impressive being large groups of fly poison. We only saw two other people on our hike.

In our neighborhood, on our way to our hike.

Rhododendron

Ghost pipe

Monarda

Whorled Loosestrife

Greater Tickseed

Fly poison

Dock's Gap, passing under the parkway

Road walking after Dock's Gap

There is parking at Wolf Laurel Gap

A great view just down the road at Wolf Laurel Gap

Did someone say hole?
