Another national park trip this year! Tara, Dian, and I met up at the airport in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. We had made a plan to spend the first night in St. Thomas, in case any of us had plane delays. As soon as you get out of the airport, there is someone asking you where you are going, and pointing to which taxi to get into. We shared a taxi with others, and the taxi driver was kind of a wild one. In a rush. We were glad we decided not to rent a car here. The roads were narrow. And when the driver wanted to go down a one-way road, but wasn't going the right way, he just drove down the road in reverse. Plus, they drive on the left side of the road here. We stayed at the Green Iguana hotel. It was on the expensive side, but we were really, really happy with it. The hotel managers were really friendly and so helpful to us. We took a walk from the hotel down to the water to go to a grocery store to pick up some fresh food. Food here is outrageously expensive. We had brought our own dehydrated meals, but we wanted to supplement with some fresh food. I bought a bag of pita, a bag of carrots, and a few apples. The hotel had a pool with a view, which was the perfect place to cool off. Did I mention it's really hot here? Our hotel also had air conditioning and a fan, which were a luxury!

Walk from our hotel to the ocean.

What a view!

"99 steps"

In town there are a lot of feral chickens and chicks.

Pretty chickens.

Back up the "99 steps"

Our hotel had a pool. Sweet. We soaked our feet and enjoyed the view.
