Glen, Krumm, and I headed out to Kentucky and visited Mammoth Cave National Park. This national park allows dogs on its hiking trails, but not on the cave tours. Glen and I took turns taking the 2-hour Domes and Dripolators cave tour. I took the tour in the morning and Glen hung out with Krumm. Then Glen took the cave tour in the afternoon, and Krumm and I went for a hike close to the visitor center while we waited for him. Cave tours are best booked in advance - they were fully booked the day we were there. The cave tour was interesting. This is the longest known cave in the world I think - 425 miles mapped so far. Volunteers continue to explore and map new sections of the cave.

You can pick up trail maps at the visitor center. There is one map of the trails near the visitor center as well as a separate backcountry map. For this hike, I stayed near the visitor center, as I was waiting for Glen. Cell service is poor near the visitor center - it did make finding each other a little challenging. The trails near the visitor center are very busy - as most people seem to stick to trails in this section.
