- Ginnie Springs Outdoors, LLC, $25/night to camp in the winter
- Unknown
Tara and I arrived at Ginnie Springs in the afternoon. This is a campground also used as a day use area to snorkel, dive, kayak, tube, etc. We found what we thought was a quiet place to camp next to the river - there are hundreds of sites, you just have to drive around and choose one. We took a walk around the roads and checked out some of the springs at the site. The springs are not hot springs - but the temperature is around 70 degrees year-round in the water. It was a warm day, and we saw people swimming, tubing, and diving (with wet suits) in the springs.
Unfortunately, even though its winter and we thought we chose a site away from people, a group of boys set up near us, and partied way late into the night. Quiet hours don't start until midnight, but these boys were screaming/honking way past that. We are used to hiker midnight - going to bed when it gets dark. We both ended up abandoning our tents and sleeping in our cars to block out some of the noise. This was my first time sleeping in this car, so unfortunately, I was sliding a bit. But hey, my car has climate control, so that was very nice.
