In the morning, we went for another kayak. This company offered rentals for an unlimited amount of time, so we kayaked until we ran out of steam - 7 1/4 miles in a little more than 4 hours.
It was a windy day, and they asked us if we really wanted to go out there. There were manatees in the spring water where we launched our kayaks. From there we travelled away from civilization, into a more wilderness experience. Paddling in the Chassahowitzka River was hard due to waves, but sometimes we'd go off into quieter tributaries. We saw so many birds on this trip - very enjoyable. We also saw 3 dolphins making quite a splash - working together to herd fish towards shore.
