Day 2 of my retirement celebration started out with a 17-mile bike ride of the Virginia Creeper Trail. We rented bikes and got transported to the start of our trail. This ride is literally coasting downhill 90% of the time! So much fun. We thought it would be quick, but we took our time stopping at museums and multiple coffee shops along the way, so it ended up being a 4-hour trip. The ride is beautiful, and we were just starting to see a little fall foliage.

After a quick lunch, we headed over to Grayson Highlands to visit the wild ponies. We've only hiked the AT through Grayson Highlands, so we had never been on the Rhododendron Trail. We walked up the trail and quickly ran into several ponies. Many looked pregnant. From there, we climbed up some boulders and hung out enjoying the view.
