Parking: 

• Mount Pisgah Parking Area, Blue Ridge Parkway, park in the 2nd parking lot

Directions:

• From the end of the parking lot take the Mount Pisgah Trail to the Mount Pisgah summit. Return the same way.

We had hoped to spend another weekend in Damascus on the AT, but Sunday is looking like a rainy day. Plus, I managed to hurt my back doing a PT exercise for my shoulder. Go figure. I packed lightly and we headed south down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Despite being past peak, we actually had some really nice foliage along our drive. The leaf peepers are still out in full force. As we approached the trailhead, the trees were mostly bare, as we were at higher elevation.

We did the short hike up Mount Pisgah. I did it last year with my yoga class, but Glen hadn't done the hike before. It's a short hike but still provide a decent workout. The hike is very popular, so we saw many people and dogs on the trail. The summit was in the clouds, so we had no view. 

On the drive back, we enjoyed the fall foliage again. The tunnel entrances look so scenic with their fall foliage backdrops. We saw a wedding party at one of the overlooks.
