The second day of a 3-day weekend with a chance of thunderstorms every day. What to do? Knock off another state high point! It turns out the Kentucky high point is only a 2 1/2-hour drive away. I know most people aren't interested in driving that far to walk a few yards to a sign and snapping some photos, lol. Yes, this high point can be driven to. It's actually a nice drive, with mountain views. We didn't have much rain today, but we did have lovely clouds lingering below mountain tops. The road up to high point is a dirt road with some deep ruts in places. We could have parked at the bottom and had a 1.5 mile walk up to the top. It would have been kinder to our car. We drove up and parked just past a communications tower that looked like it had a giant volleyball on top. From there it's just a few yards further down the road to more communication towers and the state high point. My high point list was missing a few that we had already done, so I've updated that. This is high point #22 for us.

A small sign on the side of the road. No logbook at this one. |

There was a field of milkweed at the summit, which attracted a lot of butterflies |
