Both Glen and I have various joint ailments today, so we opted for a shorter hike. We spent more time on the road for this hike, than actual hiking, but it was a good hike for us today. This hike is popular, but the parking lot is relatively large. This hike passes by a schoolyard, cemetery, and the Walker sisters' house. Reading the dates on the gravestones, you realize how short life expectancy was back then. The Hiking Trails of the Smokies guide book provides interesting details about the times. This is an easy hike on a wide trail.
