Parking: Anthony Wayne Recreation area, southern parking lot
Directions: Bike trail south. Pass intersection with the Appalachian Trail. Turn left on the Ramapo Dunderberg Trail. At Cats Elbow, turn left onto yellow blazed Surebridge Bear Mountain Trail. Follow this until the intersection of the blue blazed Timp Torne Trail. Retrace steps.
We decided to do a second trail maintenance day this spring. We are only required to go out twice a year, but Glen wanted to spend more time fixing blazes. We made additional blazes and then headed out to see the trail. Our trail was still in really good shape. The plants have leafed out, but the hard pruning we did last year still has made the trail look great. Glen replaced blazes as needed. No dogs this trip. Trek is on a hiatus due to being overdue on his lepto vaccine due to his chemo. Krummholz isn't ready to help out with trail maintenance yet. Trail maintenance here is so relaxing. It always makes me want to take a nap at Cat's Elbow when we finish our section.
