Directions: Blue trail to summit, and blue trail back down
Another rush home from work day in order to get a hike in with Krummholz. He still fights his head collar in the beginning, and then gets over it.
We had a very quick stop at the summit, and then I decided to let him hike off leash down the mountain. We hike late so it would be unlikely to have someone heading up. Well, we did see a man coming up. Krummholz stopped when he saw him. I called Krummholz to me and he came. I'm so happy with his recalls. On the way down, Glen got ahead of me, and Krummholz ran back and forth between us. I reward him with a high value treat every time he reaches me. Today I focused on having him come to me and pivot so that he's walking next to me before I reward him. Our pivot skills from his trick class are paying off. Yesterday he'd run towards me and stop right in front of me - which is awkward when hiking. I like to keep moving and its easy to trip on a dog if they are trying to get in front of you when you are walking.
