We woke up earlier today so had time for a full day of hiking. I saved some plain rice from my dinner last night and tried giving it to him this morning. He had 1 bite and that was it. On the positive side, he had tons of energy today despite having a poor appetite. And no diarrhea today. I offered him kibble several times during the day, but he wasn't interested.
It was drizzling in the morning. I slipped and fell on puncheon early in the day. Luckily I landed on my rear end so I'll just have a bruise. We hiked to a meadow & decided to take a .4 mile side trail to a view. It was our only view for the day. The trail dried out by the late afternoon.
In the evening, I did get Trek to eat a mixture of canned food & kibble. We also stopped in at a PetSmart to buy him treats to bring on the trail. He's a big fan of dehydrated chicken, so hoping that I can give that to him to snack on during the day. Tonight we went out for Thai food for dinner. We need to get a lot of sleep tonight to be ready for a long hard day tomorrow.
Our trail maintenance supervisor is a big fan of good trail signage, to help less experienced hikers from getting into trouble. We think he'd approve of the signs in this section! |
