The rain was back. It was a rainy, cold, windy morning. We had a short day planned, so we slept in. We went out to Denny's for breakfast instead of eating at the hotel. Then we did laundry at our hotel. And then took a nap. It was a dull morning, but we were stalling while waiting for the weather to improve.
We left for our hike in the afternoon. The rain was mostly done, but it was still cold and windy. It was another day of walking through pastures - all cow free. We stopped and talked to a thru hiker who started a flip-flop hike from Shippensburg. He was faster than us, so eventually he went on ahead. Trek was bored with our slow pace, and whined & pulled on his leash until we caught up with the thru hiker again when he was taking a break. Silly Trek. He wishes that we hiked faster than we do. We kept him on leash most of the day. He was fully of energy. Today's hike was really easy. Good terrain and minimal elevation gain. My foot is still sore, but my hip is feeling good.
Sign about possible flooding under a bridge - we didn't have a problem though. This is the location of a farm? used by a trail maintaining group for storing materials I guess. |
