Parking: - Miner's Falls Road. This park has a fee.
Map:- Available at the park visitor center.
Directions:- Take the trail from the trailhead and turn right. Hike past the waterfall, down to the beach. Return the same way.
We drove another hour east to hike to Au Sable Falls. This hike had many steps down to the falls. We continued down past the falls to the beach. I wasn't sure if dogs are allowed on the beach, so we turned around and headed back. Once near the top, I continued back to the car and Glen hiked another mile to a section with sand dunes, where dogs aren't allowed.
On our drive back to Marquette, we stopped at a pull off at Au Train to let Krumm go for a swim. It was around 68 degrees with no wind. He loved swimming, but did get chilled after 20 minutes or so, so we headed back to our hotel.
We stopped at the food coop and had our first incident of being harassed for driving a Tesla. I don't understand it. I have acquaintances who say they do the same thing. We bought our cars 5 and 6 years ago. We bought them before we realized what a nut job Elon was. Elon actually used to be a democrat and cared about climate change! Obviously not anymore. And we obviously didn't vote for Trump and are pissed at what both he and Elon are doing to our country. I write my senators and congressmen multiple times a week to complain. We care a lot about climate change, which is why we bought those cars back then. There weren't many options back then for EV's. We had another brand of EV for a while, but it couldn't get me back to work and back on one charge, so was pretty useless. We have solar panels at home that generate more electricity than we use. Could we sell our Teslas? Yes - for other EV's. But we were hoping to hold onto these cars for a long time - it's the best thing to do both environmentally and financially. Most of the Tesla owners we know, have their cars because of their passionate concern about climate change. Would we buy another Tesla at this point? No, not as long as Elon is the CEO of the company. And nowadays, there are many more EV options. So please - target Trump & Elon - write your representatives daily. Think before you target Tesla owners.
