AMC's Best Day Hikes in Vermont
Notes: Short mileage, but tough hike. This was our second attempt of this hike. On our first trip, we had to turn back due to thunder. This morning was cool, which helped. We hiked purposefully slowly so that we wouldn't exhaust ourselves. This hike starts with a nice level warm up. But then it goes up and up and up. No rock scrambling really, just unending uphill. The reward at the top made it worth it!
This hike had a ton of dogs on it. One of our books said that it is best to go on a weekday, unless your dog has impeccable social manners. One of mine doesn't, but we did the best we could.
